Hey Andy, is there any mention in the Bible about a person who has an abortion, or that speaks of anti-abortion? Thou shalt not kill (one of The 10 Commandments) does not count.
Hi, actually, I disagree that it doesn’t count, for the commandment is that one shall not commit murder (not that they shouldn’t kill, for the Law tells of stoning people to death for certain sins, and when the Lord sent Joshua and co. into Canaan, they were instructed to kill every one of the Canaanite inhabitants and also that king in King Saul’s time who cut off people’s thumbs – Saul was supposed to kill him, but he didn’t, so Samuel did it right then and there, in obedience to God’s instruction).
Now, in Jeremiah 1:5, God said to him, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
Also, in Psalm 139:13–16, David said to God, “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body, and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”
So God knew Jeremiah before he was formed in his mother’s womb, and before he was born, God had already set him apart and appointed him for something. God also formed every part of David when he was in his mother’s womb, and watched as he was constructed in there.
So these are just some Biblical evidences that we are in fact people before we’re born. And so, if people, then aborted, that’s an act of murder against another human being, which is a sin.
