Hey Andy, what are the most interesting facts about Jesus Christ, and why is that?
Hi, great question!
I think one of the most interesting facts about Jesus Christ is that He is ACTUALLy God — God in the flesh.
Sure, the Bible and God’s prophets had spoken of Him coming in the flesh for thousands of years, but the fact that He actually did, and the reasons why, are freakin’ amazing! I mean, just look at how many people (and religions) reject this fact because they can’t wrap their minds around it. God — the Almighty Creator who created everything that exists, you, me, our ancestors, the trees, the ground, the SKY, the water and everything in it, space, the planets (both near and far), aliens (if they exist), atoms, the way our bodies work, physics, colors, flavors, sound, emotions…I mean, literally everything that exists, God created, and He chose to not only rescue us from the one thing that could keep us from Him, but to even give us a choice of whether to accept Him and His message to us or not, and by doing so, allowing us to choose where we’ll go when we die.
God gave us the ability to choose for ourselves between the 2 options (and you’d think it’d be a no-brainer), and grant that desire of ours, should we stick to it to our death, or the one we choose before we die, based on our own decisions. And yet, He also DESIRES and PREFERS that we choose Him, love Him back, live for Him by living with Him in this lifetime, and in turn, share our joy with others so that they too may know and be known by Him.
The reason He died was so that we may be cleansed from the one thing keeping us from Him, which is sin. And yet, He was also raised so that we may have that salvation and be with Him for all eternity, should we choose that option. He died for our sins, and He was raised for our salvation — for if He hadn’t been raised, we would have no hope for salvation, and right back where we started — a pointless death on the cross, too. But God the Father raised Him up 3 days later, just as He said He would, for OUR SAKE.
What God would come to His people in the flesh (even while knowing that most would reject Him), live among them, ALLOW His own creation to kill Him (even plan on it) SO THAT He could rescue us –rescue the ones who killed Him–from that which kept us from Him in the first place, then raise up from the dead 3 days later so that the same people who killed him could have the option of being with Him for all eternity? Doesn’t that sound crazy? Yet, that’s just what Jesus did! Jesus, God in the Flesh, came to US, to rescue US, and to allow us to choose to be with Him.
In my opinion, THOSE are the most amazing facts about Jesus Christ.
