Speaking of Heaven, Why Wouldn’t You?

what about people of other religions?

I was thinking the other day about people who ask about people of other religions and their possibilities of getting to Heaven. Now, as Christians, we know that that the ONLY way to Heaven, where God dwells, is through Jesus Christ. But we will on occasion get people asking the question, “What about Muslims?” or “What about people of other religions?” and “Are you saying that they’ll go to hell because they don’t have Jesus?” And the answer is “Yes, in fact, they are going to go to hell, because they have decided to reject Jesus Christ.” But then they go into how that’s not fair and all.

Why Wouldn’t You

It’s like, “Well, here’s the thing. If you know Jesus, and you have a friend that does not know Jesus, then why wouldn’t you tell them about Jesus? If (since) that’s what they need to be saved from sin and to go to Heaven, why wouldn’t you? Not to mention the fact that it’s also your responsibility to tell them about Jesus so that they too may (hopefully) accept Christ, but why wouldn’t you tell them? Don’t you want them to be saved? Or is it because it’s just easier to complain about how God’s not fair about it?”

The Bible and All Its Truth

I also find it kind of interesting how people who continue to reject Jesus, or the Bible and all its Truth, continue to think that they’re going to go to the Heaven that our Bible talks about, you know? It’s like, ‘You reject everything else in the Bible, except for Heaven? Why do you believe Heaven even exists, then? If you won’t accept anything else the Bible says as Truth, what makes you think Heaven is then? And along with that, if you believe nothing in the Bible except for Heaven, then what makes you even think you’re going to go there, ya know? Yeah, everybody wants to go to heaven, but they don’t want to have anything to do with what (or who) it takes to get there.

But I digress.

Don’t You Want to Hang Out With Them

Here’s the idea: Say you’ve got a friend who belongs to a religion of some sort. I mean, they’re your friend, right? Don’t you want to hang out with them? If you cooked your favorite food, wouldn’t you want to share your food with them? If they need something from you, wouldn’t you gladly give them what they need? If they were drowning, wouldn’t you throw them a floating ring or dive in after them? Then why, if (since) it would save their lives, wouldn’t you want to share Jesus with them, too?

It Just Sounds Like a No-Brainer

I mean, it just doesn’t make any sense to me. It just sounds like a no-brainer. I also think that when people argue about God’s fairness, it’s just more so just an excuse for people that don’t want to actually do anything about the problem. So if you’re just going to complain about the reason why people won’t go to Heaven, instead of sharing with your “friends” about how to get to Heaven, then you really don’t have any right to complain about it (you might also want to examine the depth of your friendships with such friends).
