Hey Andy, why do people blame God for the evil that they and others bring to the world?
Hi, that’s a great question. Honestly, I think it’s because nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions – they all want to point the finger at somebody else so they don’t have to admit guilt.
Even Adam and Eve
When you think about it, we humans are the reason there’s sin and evil in the world to begin with. Heck, even Adam and Eve pointed the finger when blamed for eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge:
Adam said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” So even from the beginning, it was always somebody else’s fault, not their own.
Repent Of Our Sins and Deny Ourselves
This is also why so many people aren’t saved, for in order to accept Christ, we must first realize and acknowledge that we’re sinners and can’t be saved without Him. We need to repent of our sins and deny ourselves – not many in this era are willing to do this – instead, they either blame God for their mishaps, or want God’s benefits without sacrifice – they don’t actually want God, they just want what He offers, and that’s not true acceptance of God.
