Do You Think Christianity Will Be Around In 20 years?

Christianity is not a Religion

Hey Andy, do you think in 20 years, there will be Christianity? Churches are closing and people are turning to alternative lifestyles.

Hi, I think it’s important to realize that when God created the flood, He killed off pretty much all of humankind (except for Noah, his wife, their 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law). After some time had gone on, God called Abram, a man not of God, who’d probably never even heard of God, and was from a nation that worshiped many “other” gods, to follow Him, and he did.

Later on, there was a prophet named Elijah. Now, the king in that time had made it practically illegal to worship the Lord, and his queen, Jezebel, was killing off the Lord’s prophets to keep them from turning people back to the Lord. So Elijah actually believed that he was the only one left in the world who didn’t bow down to the Baals (false gods being promoted by the queen at that time). But in fact, God had Obadiah, who though was a servant of the king was actually a devout believer in the Lord, hide a hundred of His prophets in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.

Origins of false religionsBut one that really stands out is from the New Testament. An infamous teacher of the Apostle Paul (thought to have been Gamaliel), who was also a Pharisee, once said to the Sanhedrin, “Men of Israel, take care what you are planning to do to these men! Some time ago, there was that fellow Theudas who pretended to be someone great. About 400 others joined him, but he was killed, and all his followers went their various ways. The whole movement came to nothing. After him, at the time of the census, there was Judas of Galilee. He got people to follow him, but he was killed, too, and all his followers were scattered. So…if they (the early Christians) are planning and doing these things merely on their own, it will soon be overthrown. But if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them. You may even find yourselves fighting against God!”

Origin of ChristiantyIn other words, if Christianity is truly from God, as I and many others believe it is, then it can never, and will never, be stopped. But if it’s NOT from God, as many others in the world believe, then they should have no problem making it a forgotten religion of the past. Then, there’s the other possibility that Christ will return in less than 20 years, and we’ll then all see if it’s really from God or not.
