Is It True That God Doesn’t Like LGBTQ People?

Does there need to be evidence for truth to exist?
Hey Andy, is it true what Pastors say, that the God of the Bible doesn’t like LGBTIabc… people?

Hi. Is it true? Well, not completely. Let me explain.

It’s not that God doesn’t LIKE LGBTQs (and whatever other letters come up after that later), but that He doesn’t like their sin. See, the Bible lays out the standards that God requires of His people (as was also revealed by God through His prophets of old), and such of the LGBTQ is not among them – theirs are actually behaviors among the sinful nations of the world which God prohibits His people from practicing themselves.

Doesn’t God Love Everybody?

love of GodNow, don’t get me wrong. God loves everybody, and He loves the LGBTQ community just as much – heck, He died for them, also. But their continued sinning against Him by living out the sin that He prohibits is what He hates and what separates them from Him (sin doesn’t push God away from us, it pushes us away from God).
Have you ever heard the saying, “Love the sinner, hate the sin”? It’s sort of like that. God doesn’t hate the people sinning, but He does hate the sin they’re committing. But their decision to sin, and keep on sinning, has led them to other sinful desires and more ways of rejecting God and His standards for what it means to be Holy for Him.

God is Holy

follow Jesus - discipleshipThat’s another thing – God is Holy, and He requires His people to be Holy (set apart from the rest of the world and its ways, for Him alone), also. My Pastor mentioned the other day in a sermon based on something else that ‘God has put the bar way high -He requires that we, His people, be like Jesus. But the LGBTQ… are not holy, for they’ve become as the world and its sinful standards, which are way below God’s standards for His people.’

What Are God’s Standards?

You probably don’t regard the Bible as anything special, but in it, one of the authors of what’s known as the New Testament (The Apostle Paul) explained in Romans 1:26-32 about such people: That’s why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.”

It’s Not Ignorance

Now, we know that those in the LGBTQ are often aware of God’s standards (decrees) and what he does God hate the LGBTQ people?expects of people who wish to know Him, for I’ve talked with some who either grew up in the church, or had checked through the Bible for some sort of acceptance for such desires. I’ve also seen some denominations’ explanations and misrepresentations of the Bible to say that God does in fact accept such a lifestyle (or whatever it’s called today), and such churches are often filled with LGBTQs. So there is that desire for many to be accepted by God, if not also to receive some understanding or acceptance in the Bible for what they’re feeling inside. We also know they’re aware of God and His requirements because He’s severely mocked at every Pride parade. The problem though is that, instead of being willing to change for God, they want God to change for them, and that’s not how God works.

It’s Rejection

To become a disciple of Jesus Christ, we must first recognize that we’re sinners, deny ourselves (reject our sin and sinful behaviors, desires, acts, lifestyles, etc.), repent of our sin, turn to God through Jesus Christ, and follow Him (which includes reading the Bible, learning His ways, clothing ourselves with His ways as one changes clothes), inviting and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform us from within into the person that God created us to be. But do you really see the LGBTQ people doing that? Because all I’ve LGBTQ vs Christianityseen (accumulative) is mockery of God, demanding of everybody else to change for them, envy, deceit, malice, gossiping, slandering, hating God, arrogance, boasting of their sin, inventing ways of doing more sinful stuff, demanding rights, insisting that they were born that way and/or that God, the perfect creator of everything that exists, made a mistake with their gender, love of themselves, orgies, porn, drugs, excessive alcohol, etc.…these aren’t Holy behaviors, they’re worldly, which are actually Satanic.

God’s Patience For the LGBTQ

But again, bringing us back to your question, Jesus died for them also, with the hopes and desires that they would turn from their evil ways and turn to Him. In what we know as the Old Testament, the Lord spoke through the prophet Ezekiel (33:11), saying, “As surely as I live,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn!Turn from your evil ways! Why will you (choose to) die…?”
Peter also said in 2 Peter 3:9-10 that God’s being patient with the evil people of the world, not wanting anyone to perish, but instead for everyone to repent. Granted, He knows that’s not going to happen, but the point is that He’s giving them every opportunity to repent of their sinful ways and turn to Him so that they may be saved. But it must be noted that “the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be burned up.”
So you see, God doesn’t hate the LGBTQabc…, but He does hate their sin. He’s also being patient with them, but His arrival will be very soon, and nobody will know when it’ll happen. So if they’re going to turn from their sin and turn to God, then they’ll have to do so a.s.a.p.. Otherwise, they’ll be destined for the place that wasn’t created for them, versus the place that was. For it’s their sin that’s standing in between them and God, and until they’ve decided to choose God (through Jesus Christ), they’ve chosen sin.
Thanks for your question!
